Ria — the researcher who is you
One line: a research lane named Ria, running inside Gia on the Mac Mini, that reads the AI-safety world every night, scores it against your thesis, and puts three things in front of you each morning: one stage to stand on, one thing to build, one post. Most of her work needs no tap at all. Ria never publishes in your name without you.
Mockups (open these first): 1 · Morning Desk, what lands on your phone · 2 · Console lane inside command.arnao.ai · 3 · A real post candidate, built from last night's film · the film, transcribed and actioned
Status: proposal v2 · 2026-10-11 · written by Claude Code on the Mini · critiqued by Fable 5 and revised (section 8, and the full critique)
1. What I found (the audit, condensed)
I audited every RAI surface, the fleet's daily machinery, the LinkedIn pipeline, your goals data and 93 memory files. Full tables: RAI surfaces · fleet, Signal and mp3 machinery · goals, LinkedIn, career.
You already have the substance. You have no distribution, and nobody is holding the thread.
| Lane | What exists | State on 2026-10-11 |
| Daily brief | Signal AM (05:50) and PM (18:00) on Telegram, Fable-written, mp3 + tap cards; Signal Live / Talk voice surface; keywatch sentinel at 05:10 | Working daily. 146 of 175 to-do items are "blocked on Byron". The AM episode reads you the same 8 failing checks every morning. |
| RAI Report | theraireport.arnao.ai daily mp3 + page; rai.arnao.ai weekly brief with a Safety Index | Working. REFRESH NOW last used 2026-08-13. |
| RAI site family | eleven hostnames on one Vercel project | anchor, hallway, awsrai, weekinai, hiddencodes and the old research log are frozen on June content while reporting fresh timestamps. Two hosts 404. |
| Built tools | jev.arnao.ai (2026-10-01), jlens.arnao.ai, oreo.arnao.ai, rai-policy.arnao.ai, fruitfly.arnao.ai | Healthy. jlens rides a tunnel that died silently for a week in September. rai-scorecard (Aug) proposed, never folded in. research-app has a PRD and prototype, never promoted. |
| Moltbook / AgentSim | moltbook.arnao.com, agentsim.arnao.ai | Both still redirect to Replit. No local source. Your strategy page calls Moltbook "the flagship credibility engine". It is not under your control. |
| Public Signal podcast | signal.arnao.ai, weekly, your cloned voice | One episode ever (2026-07-20). The last three Friday drafts were held by the council; Monday air-check found nothing armed for three weeks. |
| LinkedIn | fail-closed publisher in Branding Central, 14 drafts queued, auto-renew daemon | Dead since 2026-09-15. Token expired; Gia's browser session logged out; the daily renew fails with NEED_LOGIN. Last post 2026-07-23, 80 days ago. About one post a month since March. |
| Career | bio.arnao.ai, resume.arnao.ai, career inbox, job-pipeline skill | 4 applications, 0 responses. No speaker one-sheet, no CFP pipeline, no abstracts, no book outline anywhere on disk. |
| Agent-security pillar | declared 2026-09-25 | Not tracked by any feed, score or page. Zero output. |
| Fleet | Gia (Opus 5), Mia (Gemini Flash), Cia (local Qwen), Tia (Gemma), gia2 (sandboxed) | 4 of 8 healthy on the console. Every SOUL.md names the wrong model. A ria agent id already exists as a dormant July routing stub. |
Your own strategy page says it in one sentence: "The $1M personal-brand goal sits at 0% and is gated almost entirely by distribution." Cadence is 0 on all five pillars. Proof is 100 on four.
2. What you asked for, and what you did not say
You asked for: an exhaustive audit; a new agent that is a clone of you as an RAI researcher; aware of every project one click away; wired into Gia and the existing process; LinkedIn automated; tools built when news breaks (jlens, jev); awareness of the latest safety research; venues, themes, papers, talks, books, a possible job change; everything proactive; this video transcribed and actioned.
What you did not say, and I am treating as true:
- The bottleneck is not research. It is you being the only approver, with 146 things waiting. The LinkedIn fix has been one tap since September 15 and has not happened in 26 days. Anything that adds decisions to your queue fails. Ria has to remove decisions, not add them.
- "Top 20 voice" is measured in people, not posts. Citations by peers, invitations into rooms, artifacts other people use, press that calls you first. A weekly post moves you from invisible to present. It is hygiene, not the engine.
- You cannot publish most of what you know. The AWS wall is real. The persona that works is the one your strategy page already named: the operator who builds and runs responsible multi-agent AI in public, personal capacity, under-claiming, every claim cited, never commenting on competitors' safety work as AWS.
- A synthetic persona ghost-writing the Responsible AI principal is a story that can invert your brand. So Ria is not hidden. Ria is disclosed. Transparency is the product (section 3, the bold idea).
- At 62 with no degree, the degree substitute is a public body of work with dates on it, and data that other people cite. Tools with URLs, a named artifact, talks with recordings, then a book.
- You already pay for most of this. Gia's Signal, the RAI Report, keywatch, the branding console, the voice clone, the youtube-transcript skill. Ria is a new mind on existing plumbing, not new plumbing.
3. Ria, defined
New agent or lane inside Gia? You asked for a new agent. Fable's adjudication, which I accept: a named lane inside Gia for the first 60 days, with its own cost tag, kill switch, SOUL section and persona prompt. Reasons: one morning surface (Gia already owns the Signal thread and your attention window), context already lives in Gia (voice profile, memory, worklog), and every new agent on a fleet at 4 of 8 healthy is new surface to rot; the dormant ria stub is the proof. Promotion to a fourth agent happens only if the lane measurably starves Gia's context or compute. Decision 1 is yours.
Who she is. Your research self, written from your voice profile and your north-star memory: a philosophy reader who thinks AI will probably kill us and still builds the controls; who cares about job worth, consciousness, mechanistic interpretability, controllability and agent security; who would rather ship a tool than post an opinion. Leads with the conclusion. Does not say "leverage".
Her lanes, in priority order (inverted from v1 on Fable's call).
- Stage (primary). A named pipeline of 20 targets with dates: conferences, CFPs, podcasts, working groups, journalists. Ria drafts the abstract or pitch, scores fit, and flags the AWS speaking pre-clearance as a tracked dependency, not a footnote. Live today, from one search, with the rest to come as her first deliverable: USENIX SAIS 2027 (secure agents, Santa Clara, papers due 4 Feb 2027; fit 84), IASEAI'27 (Paris, 9 to 12 Feb 2027, policy track), AI Context NY (16 to 17 Mar 2027, call open to 4 Jan), AgenticCon SF (25 Feb 2027, governance and control, practitioner-led), IAPP Global Summit 2027 (DC, March; this cycle's call looks closed, next cycle tracked).
- Artifact (new). One named thing other people cite. The agent-security pillar has zero output and is begging for it. Candidate: the Mini Incident Log, a public, dated, primary-source record of what fails in a governed personal agent fleet and what the control missed. You already have the material: the alias hijack, the silent tunnel death, the surfaces lying about their own timestamps, the fail-closed token dead for weeks. Nobody in AI safety is publishing this from a real deployment. It is data, not opinion, and it is AWS-safe because it is your infrastructure.
- Build. When the news earns it, a tool in 48 hours under the jlens and jev pattern, with the scaffold generated overnight so your tap is "ship", not "start". Each build ships with its distribution attached: a post, a Stage pitch, a line in the incident log. First candidate: canary.arnao.ai from the Stanford entry-level series.
- Voice (hygiene). One post a week from candidates in your voice, sources checked live. Posts that match pre-cleared templates (tool announcements, citations of public papers, incident-log entries) go out after a 24-hour veto window. Opinion and anything touching other labs' safety work stays manual, forever.
- Radar. Five items a day that passed the thesis filter, six-minute cut in your voice. Read it or do not; nothing waits on it.
Her autonomy policy (step zero, before anything else ships).
- Queue bankruptcy: every blocked item older than 14 days auto-closes, with a one-line digest of what closed. The 146 become a number you can read.
- Tiered authority: Radar, scaffolding, Stage research and abstract drafting are fully autonomous. Voice is veto-window for templated posts, manual for opinion. Submitting anything to a venue is manual. Publishing in your name is never autonomous.
- Every morning: three items maximum. If nothing clears the bar, she says "nothing today".
Her guardrails (encoded as a fleet skill, not a document).
- No LinkedIn token, no Gmail send, no Vercel token in her lane. Publishing goes through the existing fail-closed publisher.
- Public AWS information only, cited at the point of claim. No commentary on competitors' safety work under your name.
- Reads the SherpaDude front-door registry before proposing anything; never parallel-builds or re-points a live arnao.ai property.
- Every claim carries a live URL. Every voice render passes the pronunciation lexicon and whisper-back QA.
- Disclosed: a line on rai-policy.arnao.ai says a research agent drafts with you, and links the incident log.
What she produces every morning (06:10, inside the Signal thread, no new app). Mockup 1. What she maintains. Mockup 2: a Ria lane in command.arnao.ai with Stage, Artifact, Build, Voice, Radar, and one score recomputed nightly from citations, invitations and shipped artifacts, not page views.
4. The 90-day plan
Week 1: burn, unblock, stand up.
- You: one tap to log Gia's browser back into LinkedIn (link in the chat reply, never on this page). That revives the publisher and the nightly auto-renew.
- Me: retire or redirect the five June-frozen hostnames and the two 404s to rai.arnao.ai with honest dates. Decide Moltbook and AgentSim (decision 5). A stranger vetting you must not find eleven hosts, five lying about their age.
- Me: ship the autonomy policy and queue bankruptcy. Then the Ria lane in Gia: persona, cost tag, kill switch, feeds, the youtube-transcript skill wired to the channels you watch.
- Me: Stage list of 20 named targets with dates. First abstract drafted (USENIX SAIS). First incident-log entry drafted from the September tunnel death.
- Me: triage the 14 drafts (estimate: 6 refresh, 5 retire, 3 ship). First post candidate: Mockup 3.
Weeks 2 to 4: cadence and the artifact.
- One post a week, every week. Metrics scraped back into the linkedin-optimizer loop planned in July and never run.
- Incident Log v1 public: five entries, dated, with the control that missed. Disclosure line on rai-policy.
- Fold the film's three house rules into rai-policy. Fold rai-scorecard into rai.arnao.ai.
- Public Signal weekly airing: council thresholds tuned so green episodes arm themselves and you only hear about red.
Weeks 5 to 12: proof with dates on it.
- Two tools shipped from news, each with distribution attached. Two talks submitted. One podcast guest slot landed.
- Incident Log cited or linked by at least one outside party. That is the first real top-20 signal.
- Book: not yet. A 12-post series, "The Last Invention", from the incident log and the Stage talks, becomes the outline.
5. What it costs
- Ria's run inside Gia: a cost tag with a hard cap of $1 a day, Spend Guard enforced. Sweeps on local Qwen cost nothing; Fable only for synthesis and critique. If the cap is wrong, the cap stops her, not your card.
- No new subscriptions, no new apps, no new sender in your Telegram thread.
- Your time: up to three taps a morning. On most mornings, fewer.
6. Decisions I need from you
- Shape: Ria as a lane inside Gia for 60 days (recommended), or a fourth agent from day one as you first asked.
- Autonomy: approve queue bankruptcy at 14 days and the 24-hour veto window for templated posts. Without this, Fable's verdict is to kill the proposal, and I agree.
- The LinkedIn login tap (in the chat reply).
- Artifact: the Mini Incident Log as the agent-security pillar's first named output. Yes or no.
- Replit exit: museum or rebuild for Moltbook and AgentSim.
7. The film, actioned
You asked for the whole thing transcribed. It is: talk.html, 3,115 words, transcribed on the Mini for $0, with ten citable claims traced to live sources and five actions. The first is built: the post candidate. The film is also the template for a disclosed synthetic Byron delivering a six-minute brief, which you already have the parts for.
8. Self-critique — Fable adversarial pass
Full text: critique.html. Fable's verdict on v1: "the audit is the best thing in this document; the prescription contradicts the diagnosis." What changed in v2 because of it:
- New agent became a lane inside Gia. Fable's adjudication: one morning surface, context already in Gia, every new agent is surface to rot, and the dormant
ria stub proves naming a process creates nothing. Accepted; promotion path kept.
- Autonomy policy became step zero. v1 said "kill the rest" with no mechanism. v2 has queue bankruptcy at 14 days, tiered authority, and a veto window for templated posts. Fable: "without this change, kill the whole proposal."
- Lanes inverted. Stage moved from third to first with five named venues and dates today and a 20-target list as the first deliverable. Voice demoted to hygiene. Build now ships with distribution attached.
- A named artifact was added. Fable's bold idea, taken whole: publish the fleet's failures. The Mini Incident Log is the agent-security pillar's first output and the one thing in this proposal a top-20 list would cite.
- Ria is disclosed, not hidden. Fable's sharpest point: a synthetic persona ghost-writing the RAI principal is a story that inverts the brand. The fix is transparency as the product.
- Sprawl burn moved to week 1. Five frozen hosts lying about their dates are negative credibility to anyone vetting you.
- Not taken: Fable's "$1/day is optimistic". Kept as a hard cap rather than an estimate; the cap stops her, not your card. And Fable's "no human names": true, and the 20-name list is deliberately Ria's first job, not a guess made here.
